The Texas Longhorns continue to pick up steam on the recruiting trail coming out of their final official visit weekend of the June window, as they have lassoed another commitment along the defensive line.
Coming into the weekend, Texas was viewed as trailing the competition in the recruitment of four-star Wellington (Fla.) Palm Beach Central defensive tackle Tyler Alexander. As you know, things in recruiting can change quickly and that is exactly what happened with this recruitment, as Hayes Fawcett of Rivals reports Alexander committed to Texas on Tuesday.
Alexander holds over 40 offers on his resume and took official visits to Colorado, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Texas during the summer official visit window. The Buffaloes reportedly were the front runner as the visits ran their course, but Texas vaulted themselves into the forefront of the recruitment with a strong visit over this past weekend.

Other schools to offer Alexander include Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Pitt, Rutgers, Stanford, Syracuse, Texas A&M, and West Virginia, among others.
A consensus four-star prospect, Alexander is ranked as the No. 428 player nationally and the No. 49 defensive lineman, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The 6’3.5, 315-pounder is the second defensive tackle commitment in the 2027 class for the Longhorns to go along with four-star prospect Kasi Currie. The Longhorns and defensive line coach Kenny Baker continue to build a presence in the Sunshine State in the form of plucking blue-chip defensive tackles after previously taking Myron Charles and James Johnson in the last two cycles.
