Florida State women’s basketball gets an early preview of March Madness as it faces its three straight ranked opponents, beginning on Sunday against No. 19 Georgia Tech (21-6, 9-6).
The Seminoles (21-6, 11-4) have won two straight games without their star player, Ta’Niya Latson. She and O’Mariah Gordon have been dealing with injuries, and FSU coach Brooke Wyckoff is uncertain they will be available this Sunday.
Sunday’s game is crucial for either side. The Seminoles can use another signature win. They still have one Quad 1 victory and are 1-3 against ranked opponents while fighting for a higher seed in the ACC and NCAA Tournament.
Georgia Tech has lost two of the last three conference games. The Yellow Jackets are coming off an 83-68 loss to North Carolina State on Thursday, which dropped them to eighth in the ACC Standings, while the Seminoles are No. 5 following their victory over Pitt.
Georgia Tech is led by its top three guards, Kris Dunn, Dani Carnegie, and Tonie Morgan. Dunn is the top scorer, averaging 16 points a game. Both freshman Carnegie and junior Morgan are at 13 per game.

Peter Holland’s FSU basketball vs. Georgia Tech scoring prediction
GT, 72-68: This game depends on whether Latson and Gordon will be available. If neither don’t play, I don’t see the Seminoles escaping with a victory over the Yellow Jackets.
FSU has depth, and Wyckoff has done a good job managing their minutes and rotating players. Makayla Timpson will likely have to carry the load again, but once she gets in foul trouble and is forced to sit, the Seminoles will be in trouble, especially if they are without their star guards.
Seminoles must depend on their role players to maximize their efforts, as Gordon did against Miami when she dropped 34 points.
Everyone has a role on the Seminoles, but someone has come through with their execution while taking the heat off FSU’s Big Three. Their inconsistent shooting will hurt them on Sunday against Georgia Tech.
