Florida State men’s basketball begins its ACC tournament run against Cal on Wednesday, March 11, at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The No. 8-seeded Seminoles (17-14, 10-8 ACC) are one of the hottest teams in college basketball, with a 10-3 record since Jan. 20. That run turned the program around from 7-11 and 0-5 in the ACC, and one of the 10 wins came agaisnt Cal.

FSU beat the No. 9-seeded Bears (21-10) in the regular season, 63-61. Cal is currently on the outside looking in of the NCAA tournament, and needs to string together some wins to get an at-large bid into the tournament.

FSU Seminoles hosts SMU Mustangs, men’s basketball

The Seminoles are led by All-ACC third team guard Robert McCray V and forward Chauncey Wiggins, two of the program’s most consistent players. McCray averages 6.1 assists per game alongside 15.6 points per game, while Wiggins averages 13.3 points and 4 rebounds. Wiggins scored 31 points in FSU’s last game, a 91-78 win over SMU.

Cal has four players who averaged double figures, including All-ACC third team guard Dai Dai Ames. He averages 16.9 points per game for the Bears, and he’s scored in double figures in Cal’s last five games of the season.
