Gabe Dynes commits to Louisville

by

As expected, USC transfer Gabey Dynes has committed to the Louisville Cardinals, making the announcement on Saturday.

Dynes’ decision came after a flurry of visits this week, including trips to Xavier, Kentucky, and Louisville. In the end, the recruitment was down to Kentucky vs. Louisville, but the Wildcats weren’t willing to offer the same package that the Cards were, so they won out in the end.

A 7-foot-5, 214-pound product of Simon Kenton High School in Independence, Kentucky, Dynes appeared in 30 games this past season for the Trojans, averaging 2.9 points on 78.8% shooting (35.3% on free throws), 2.3 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 11.9 minutes per game. He previously spent two seasons at Youngstown State before transferring to USC this past offseason.

Dynes would have been a nice addition to a frontcourt that really has just one true center currently in Malachi Moreno, who is testing the NBA Draft waters.

Thankfully, the Wildcats did just land a commitment from 6-foot-11 international big man Ousmane N’Diaye, who can give them minutes at the 4 and 5 spots.
