WHAT’S AT STAKE?
We have now entered the ‘playing with House Money’ portion of the tournament. Some would say that the House Money thing started last night against Villanova but I didn’t rate the Wildcats like that.
Now before we go any further, please go ahead and let yourself enjoy this moment. There haven’t been too many of them over the last decade plus.
Now onto the game. Georgetown is a massive underdog and has lost 12 straight to UConn.

What’s going for the Hoyas is that everybody is stepping up with KJ Lewis down. Kayvaugn Mulready has become a sharpshooter. Jeremiah Williams is the point guard Ed Cooley has needed all season. Vince Iwuchukwu and Julius Halaifonua have taken turns dominating in the post. Malik Mack always has it in him for the big moments while Caleb Williams continues to be steady. One has to also factor in that Georgetown has played UConn tight in both games this far – losing by 2 and 4 points.
Georgetown is 40 minutes away from playing for an NCAA Tournament berth. It’s about all one could ask for given how this season has gone.
NOTES
BET history was in Georgetown’s favor against Villanova in Thursday’s quarterfinals and history prevailed. That’s the good news. Now for the semis history is against the Hoyas tonight against UConn
