Gaylord Family drops 3 spots in toughest venues in College Football

The Oklahoma Sooners have been road dogs over the last couple of seasons. In 2025, they picked up road wins at two of the most difficult places to play in college football, beating Tennessee at Neyland Stadium and Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

But the Sooners also have one of the toughest places to play, according to rankings released by EA Sports ahead of the release of College Football 27. Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium came in at No. 11 in this year’s rankings. That’s three spots lower than how GFOMS ranked in College Football 26.

The Sooners went 7-1 during the regular season with the lone loss to Ole Miss on a dreary day in Norman. Oklahoma also lost at home during the College Football Playoff after jumping out to a 17-0 lead over Alabama.

This year, the Sooners will need to be great at home once again. After facing UTEP and New Mexico in nonconference play, Oklahoma will play Kentucky, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M at home this season.
