The Georgia Bulldogs have been labeled as “the team to beat” for five-star edge recruit David Jacobs Jr. by Rivals’ Josh Newberg. Jacobs Jr.’s father played for Georgia from 1999-2001. The in-state recruit has been heavily recruited Georgia and Kirby Smart for quite some time now.
His 2024 high school stats were impressive with Blessed Trinity Catholic in Roswell, Georgia. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound edge rusher posted 112 tackles, 35 tackles for losses, and 12 sacks. He is a game-wrecker and can get in the backfield at any time. With his already great production and his motor coming to Georgia would only enhance his skills. He could be looked at as an elite draft prospect down the road if he commits to Georgia.

He is the nation’s No. 3 edge rusher and the No. 11 overall prospect for the class of 2027 in the 247Sports composite.
Georgia has two commitments in the 2027 class in four-star corner Donte Wright (Long Beach Poly) and three-star wide receiver Gavin Honore (Mater Dei). Getting Jacobs Jr. would be a foundation piece to another top-five or even top-three recruiting class for head coach Kirby Smart.
Jacobs is a priority recruit for Georgia especially after five-star pass rusher LaDamion Guyton surprisingly committed to Texas Tech after signing a massive name, image and likeness (NIL) deal.
