Georgia football offers elite Cincinnati commitment

by

The Georgia Bulldogs have extended a scholarship offer to Cincinnati Bearcats commitment Solomon Mathis. Mathis, who plays high school football for Hephzibah High School in Hephzibah, Georgia, has been committed to Cincinnati since Feb. 2025.

247Sports views Mathis as an offensive lineman, but Georgia views the three-star recruit as a defensive lineman. Georgia defensive line coach Travion Scott extended a scholarship offer to Mathis on April 15.

“Had a good talk with Travion Scott. I am glad to say I got an offer from the University of Georgia. Go Dawgs!!” said Mathis via social media.

Georgia could be looking to flip the Cincinnati commit. Mathis has excellent size. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman is ranked as the No. 108 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 104 recruit in Georgia in the class of 2026.

The Georgia Bulldogs currently have six commitments in the class of 2026. Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class ranks No. 24 in the nation. Head coach Kirby Smart and company have no commitments along the offensive line. UGA has one commitment along the defensive line in Seven Cloud, who recently reaffirmed his commitment to the Bulldogs.

Mathis is one of Cincinnati’s eight commitments including three from players in the trenches in the 2026 recruiting cycle. The Bearcats have the No. 52 recruiting class in the nation.
