Georgia football is set to have an opening for an assistant coach on the defensive side of the ball.
Outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe is expected to be hired for the same job for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports on Tuesday Feb. 3.

The Cowboys’ head coach is former Georgia offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and its new defensive coordinator is Christian Parker.
A message left for Uzo-Diribe on Tuesday evening was not immediately returned.
Uzo-Diribe, 33, has coached on the Bulldogs staff since 2022 when he filled a position when Dan Lanning was hired as Oregon’s head coach.
The former Colorado defensive end previously coached at Kansas, SMU and briefly at TCU before Kirby Smart hired him.
Uzo-Diribe’s departure is the second change on Kirby Smart’s on-field coaching staff this offseason.
Offensive line coach Stacy Searels moved to an off-field analyst role and Phil Rauscher was promoted from a support staff role to offensive line coach.

Uzi-Diribe, a Corona, Calif., native was part of a defensive staff in 2022 and 2023 that ranked fifth nationally in scoring defense. He helped coach NFL first-round pick Jalon Walker when he played a hybrid linebacker role and had 6 ½ sacks in 2024.
The Bulldogs in 2025 struggled to get sacks. Outside linebacker Quintavius Johnson had 2, but Army transfer Elo Modozie could not translate his pass rush success in the SEC and he transferred out after not recording a sack.
The Bulldogs signed four-star outside linebacker Khamari Brooks from North Oconee in the 2026 class. Georgia also has a former five-star in Isaiah Gibson from the 2025 class.
