One Big Ten powerhouse is in great, massive hands with a Georgia transfer. That former Bulldogs defender is bringing a “scary big” presence to the USC defensive line.

Jamaal Jarrett went viral with a photo showcasing his large arms and upcoming presence to the USC defense. One fan account marveled at the newcomer.

“Okay, now imagine this 6’5” 350-pound man coming off the line,” the account asked on X. “USC’s Jamaal Jarrett is SCARY BIG.”

Indeed he is — and will play a pivotal role for the Trojans defense. Jarrett joins Super Bowl winning defensive line coach Eric Henderson in Athens. Former NFL assistant D’Anton Lynn is now his defensive coordinator.

The former Bulldogs starter previously won over Lincoln Riley over the spring. Not because of his play, but for attacking one pivotal area.

“He gave us his word that he was ready to be better, and he’s done that so far,” Riley said regarding Jarrett’s approach to his conditioning.

Jarrett, however, has shown his “freaky” athleticism before. He was seen running a 12.2 time in the 100-meter dash while carrying 355 pounds. Jarrett wasn’t even the last runner among the competition.

The Greensboro, North Carolina talent arrived as a four-star addition for the 2023 class. Georgia landed the nation’s 13th best defensive lineman by 247Sports and the state of North Carolina’s fourth-best prospect. He was offered by 27 different schools including the Bulldogs.

Jarrett even drew comparisons to one past beloved Bulldogs defender who won a recent Super Bowl: Jordan Davis, with Brian Dohn of 247Sports making that comparison. Now he’s one of the more highly-anticipated USC newcomers for ’25.
