Name: Tunmise Adeleye
Position: Defensive lineman
Year: Redshirt senior
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 275 lbs.
Hometown: Katy, TX
High School/Previous College: Obra D. Tompkins High School/Texas State/Texas A&M/UNLV
2025 stats: Finished with 48 tackles (19 solo), six sacks, and three pass deflections in 13 games. Started UNLV’s last six games of the 2025 season. Named honorable mention for All-Mountain West teams.
2026 projections: Adeleye is one of the most intriguing new names on the 2026 Orange roster. He finally had the chance to produce at UNLV, and did so, earning playing time and a larger role by the end of the year. Adeleye brings some much-needed burst and power for a defense looking to improve at getting to the quarterback and collapsing the pocket. He should be in a position to succeed under new defensive coordinator Vince Kehres. Expect Adeleye to start somewhere in the trenches.

How’d he get here?: Quite the journey for Adeleye. Initially committed years ago to Texas A&M as a four-star defensive lineman. He appeared in three games there in 2022, then had one-year tenures with Michigan State (2023) and Texas State (2024). After playing 13 games combined across those programs, Adeleye had the best season of his career at UNLV, then recently transferred to the Orange in January.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Four stars on 247Sports and On3, and three stars on ESPN as a recruit; three stars as a transfer per 247Sports and On3

Interesting nugget o’interest: The city of Katy is around 25-ish minutes outside of downtown Houston. At one time in history (as far back as the 1800s), it was called “Cane Island” because of the number of cane plants in the area.
