Gio Ruggiero will be competing for a NASCAR Truck Series championship during the 2026 season. After the Truck Series race at Lucas Oil Raceway, Ruggiero has clinched a spot in the Chase. With two races remaining in the regular season, the driver of the No. 17 truck sits fifth in the championship standings.
Ruggiero is five points behind Christian Eckes for fourth in the standings, so there is a potential for a top-4 seed entering the Chase. It has been a tough summer for Ruggiero, who hasn’t earned a top-5 finish since Charlotte Motor Speedway in late May.

Despite the lack of results, Ruggiero will more than likely have a top-5 seed entering the Chase. With the standings being bunched up again, it will allow the TRICON Garage driver to make a hard push for the championship. For now, Ruggiero will hope to pass Eckes for fourth in the standings.
