South Decatur traveled to possible sectional foe Tri Tuesday for a matchup with the Lady Titans. The Lady Cougars got off to a slow offensive start, but rallied to cut the deficit to six points in the third quarter before eventually falling 38-28.
South drops to 7-9 on the season. Tri improves to 10-2.

Tri opened the game with the first five points. South matched that as Taylor Somers scored four points and Dalilah Martin hit a free throw. With less than a minute to play in the first quarter, Tri’s Jillian Chew connected on a floater in the lane and drew a foul. She hit the free throw to give the Lady Titans an 8-5 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Tri’s Olivia Parham hit a jumper to open the scoring in the second quarter. South got on the board in the second with a Raegan Benge free throw to cut the deficit to 10-6. Tri went on a 9-1 run, capped by a short jumper by Avery Duncan as the Lady Titans led 19-7.
After a South timeout at the 1:57 mark, Riley Benge hit a long jumper from the right corner and got a bucket in the paint with less than one second to play in the half to cut the deficit to 19-11 at the break.
A Somers assist to Raegan Benge opened the third quarter. Tri answered with a bucket by Nakaya Cridge and 3-pointer by Sierra Dowell to give the Lady Titans a 24-13 lead. South’s Murray answered with a right wing 3-pointer. A Somers bucket in the paint cut the deficit to 24-18.

Still with a 6-point lead, a bucket by Maren Stevens put the Lady Titans up 28-20 heading to the fourth quarter.
After a fourth-quarter opening bucket by Tri’s Parham, South cut the deficit to seven on a Martin free throw and bucket by Somers. Tri scored the next four points and the Lady Cougars could not get any closer as Tri went on to the 38-28 win.
For South, Somers had 10 points, three assists and six rebounds. Murray finished with six points. Raegan Benge had five points and nine rebounds. Riley Benge added five points and five rebounds. Martin had two points, five steals and four assists.
Greensburg

Greensburg played host to a 3-loss Eastern Hancock team Tuesday, but the Lady Royals were not a 3-loss team after Tuesday. The Lady Pirates jumped out to an 18-6 lead after the first quarter and outscored Eastern Hancock 35-21 in the second half en route to the 68-40 victory.
Greensburg improves to 12-5 on the season. The Lady Royals fall to 10-4.
Greensburg shot 48 percent from the field and held the Lady Royals to just 31 percent. The Lady Pirates had 26 points in transition and outscored Eastern Hancock 46-20 on points in the paint.
Greensburg dominated the glass, outrebounding the visitors 35-24.

For the Lady Pirates, Claire Larrison tallied 28 points, 16 rebounds and three assists. Aly Powers added 24 points, five rebounds and two assists. Sophie Buening had 10 points, one rebound and one assist. Mary Harmon (6 assists), Kahlen Adams (2 assists) and Lulu Webb all scored two points. Emma Kuntz finished with four rebounds and three assists. Kiera Kennelly had a rebound.
North Decatur
On the road at Edinburgh, the Lady Chargers got off to a slow start, trailing 14-0. North Decatur battled back to cut the deficit to 28-20 at the half and eventually forced overtime and a second overtime. The Lady Chargers completed the comeback with the 64-58 win in double OT.
North improves to 5-11 overall and 2-0 in the MHC. Edinburgh falls to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in the MHC.

Down 14-0, North ran off eight straight points to end the first quarter. Jewel Verseman and Brynlee Green both had three points and Jo Whitaker added a bucket.
Whitaker scored four points and Green hit a 3-pointer to lead a balanced second-quarter attack from North as the Lady Chargers trailed 28-20 at the half.
Carmen Thackery’s seven points and Verseman’s six points helped the Lady Chargers cut into the deficit in the third quarter. North trailed by as many as 11 points with just three minutes left in the game, but rallied to knot the game and force overtime.
Edinburgh hit what looked like a game-winning 3-pointer at the end of the first overtime, but it was ruled a two and the teams went to a second overtime. North closed out the win at the charity stripe, picking up the 64-58 win.

North was 24-of-39 at the free throw for the game.
“They (girls) showed a lot of fight and determination throughout the game and never gave up,” Coach Johnson noted.
For the Lady Chargers, Verseman led in scoring with 19 points. Thackery was next with 17 points. Green was also in double figures with 10 points. Whitaker added nine points followed by Brooklyn White seven and Libby Crawford two.
Rushville
The Lady Lions traveled to Franklin County Tuesday to face the Lady Wildcats in EIAC action. Rushville led at every break and picked up the second conference win of the season with a 58-50 victory.

Rushville improves to 2-15 overall and 2-1 in the EIAC. Franklin County drops to 7-9 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The Lady Lions led 16-10 after the first quarter. Franklin County cut the deficit by two in the second quarter, but the Lady Lions still led 31-27 at the break. After three quarters, Rushville led 39-37.
For the Lady Lions, Mikayla Herbert led in scoring with 16 points. Carly Senour finished with 13 points. Charlotte Caviness scored nine points on a trio of 3-pointers. Kelsey Morgan and Makenna Ripberger both had six points. Charli Marcum and Lia Bohn both added four points.
In the junior varsity contest, the Lady Lions fell to the Lady Wildcats 40-34.

For the Lady Lions, Althea Tellas finished with nine points, two assists and one block. Elaine Angle tallied seven points, six rebounds, two assists and four steals. Molly Corn added six points and four rebounds. Jerrica Taylor chipped in with six points, one rebound and one assist. Haylie Tucker had five points and four rebounds. Jasmine Taylor added one point, two rebounds and one assist. Annie Buzzard grabbed four rebounds. Rylie Whaley had two rebounds.
Rushville hosts East Central (14-2) Saturday.
