FLASH! Gretchen Walsh Blasts 100IM WR; Makes It Two Records In 35 Minutes
Gretchen Walsh made it two world records in around 35 minutes when she lowered the 100IM standard to 55.11 en-route to the world short-course title in Budapest.
The USA swimmer took 0.60 from the WR of 55.71 she set in the semis on Thursday with Kate Douglass making it an American 1-2 in 56.49 with Beryl Gastaldello of France third in 56.67.
Friday’s WR followed her global standard of 52.87 in the 100 fly semis and brings to six the number of individual world records she has set during four days of competition in the Hungarian capital.
