Fresh off her highly anticipated arrival in the WNBA, Chicago Sky rookie Hailey Van Lith made a surprising admission about her admiration for an iconic figure outside the sports world.
In Bustle’s inaugural Game Changers issue, the former TCU Horned Frogs standout spoke about Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe, highlighting her unique signature style.

According to the WNBA rookie, she is influenced by the late actress, especially on the red carpet.
“When I’m on the red carpet, I love a good retro vintage look,” she said when talking about her beauty must-have, adding, “A lot of times I channel an inner Marilyn Monroe.”
Interestingly, Van Lith’s outfit during the 2025 WNBA Draft night gave off a sense of old Hollywood glam.
The Sky guard went for a sparkly black mini dress that highlighted her legs and simple black heels that perfectly matched the look.

Lastly, she completed the ensemble with a leather purse from Coach.
What stood out, however, was Van Lith’s look for the day—a classic Hollywood glam makeup style featuring flawless, glowing skin, bold lips, defined eyes and softly sculpted cheekbones.

The WNBA rookie also went for a side-swept hairstyle and voluminous curls, giving her Orange Carpet moment a major retro vibe.
Besides her red carpet inspiration, the 23-year-old is also fashion-savvy and revealed a keen interest in knitwear trends.
During the 2025 WNBA Draft, the Washington native was selected as the No. 11 overall pick by the Sky, joining the team alongside Slovenian player Ajsa Sivka as part of their rookie class.
