Harriet Dart misses out in quarterfinals at Birmingham Open

by

Harriet Dart has missed out on the quarterfinals of the Birmingham Classic after losing in straight sets to opponent Barbora Krejcikova in their round-of-16 match.

The British No. 2 tried to fight her way back from a 5-1 trail during the second set, winning three consecutive games but was stumped by the Czech player, ending the match 6-3, 6-4 in just under 90 minutes.

During last year’s tournament, Dart made it to the quarterfinals but the home favourite was not able to beat last year’s run against this years No. 2 seed. Dart was the last Brit left in the competition this year.

Elsewhere in British tennis, British men’s No. 1 Jack Draper beat reigning champion in the Queen’s Club Championship Carlos Alcaraz in their Round-of-16 match.
