Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith’s relationship is one of the best early storylines from WNBA training camp.
On the night of the WNBA draft, Reese had the perfect reaction to her former teammate joining the Chicago Sky. They’ll be working side by side as Van Lith enters her rookie season, and Reese recently shared how she can relate to what her new guard may be experiencing.

“I know a lot of pressure’s probably on her from the outside,” Reese explained. “You know, I know how it is just being the big name coming to town, expected to do big things, and I was just telling her, like, ‘Stay calm. Stay poised.” Still, Reese’s connection with Van Lith seemingly goes beyond advice. There’s a deeper bond between the pair, and Reese revealed there’s a reason for that.
“Just being able to be here for her in this moment, because last year was tough for me, because I didn’t have a lot of vets. So, just being that ‘big sister’, I guess, kinda, to her is super important for her.”
It’s so good to see Reese and Van Lith pick back up right where they left off. We can’t wait to see what they do in the W together.
