New Auburn head coach Alex Golesh continues to find gold on the recruiting trail as he adds a three-star lineman to his 2026 haul.
Three-star OL Bear McWhorter officially signed with Auburn this week after previously signing with Michigan. The Cartersville, Georgia, native backed off his NLI to Michigan following the dismissal of head coach Sherrone Moore, and Auburn was able to take advantage.

McWhorter’s signing brings Auburn’s total to 19 players, and has given them a boost in the 2026 recruiting rankings by 247Sports to No. 36, up from No. 41 before McWhorter’s signing. Auburn ended the first day of the early signing period ranked No. 36; however, the Tigers dipped to No. 41 after losing five-star wide receiver commit Jase Mathews to Ole Miss. Auburn is now back in a familiar spot in the top-40 after beginning the signing period with the No. 93-ranked class.
Auburn’s No. 36 class ranks above notable teams such as Georgia Tech, Arizona State, Louisville, and NC State, and ranks No. 14 among SEC teams, leading Arkansas and Kentucky. Here is a look at Auburn’s updated 2026 signing class.
