After a double-overtime loss to then-No. 13 NC State on Sunday, Notre Dame women’s basketball dropped to No. 3 in the Associated Press poll that moved Monday afternoon.
The USA Today Coaches poll will move Tuesday afternoon.
Texas (26-2) moved up to No. 1 in the AP poll while UCLA (26-1) climbed back up into the No. 2 position followed by the Irish (24-3). USC (25-2) and UConn (26-3) complete the top five. NC state rose to No. 9 with the win over then-No. 1 Notre Dame.

Notre Dame’s résumé this season includes an 80-70 overtime victory over the top-ranked Longhorns on Dec. 5, a 74-61 victory over the No. 4 Trojans on Nov. 23 and a 79-68 triumph over the No. 5 Huskies on Dec. 12.
Notre Dame, 15-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, returns home for the final two games of the regular season, hosting No. 24 Florida State (22-6, 12-4) ) at 8 p.m. Thursday, followed by a rematch with No. 25 Louisville (19-8, 12-4)) on Sunday at noon. The Irish beat Louisville, 89-71, at KFC Yum! Center on Feb. 2.
