Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Nitro Tuggle transferred to the Purdue Boilermakers in the spring of 2025. Tuggle had an immediate impact at Purdue. He emerged as one of the Boilermakers’ top pass catchers and enjoyed the most productive season of his college career.
At Purdue, Tuggle was much closer to home. He posted 34 receptions for 500 yards and four touchdowns with the Boilermakers and finished the year as Purdue’s second leading receiver behind fellow Georgia transfer receiver Michael Jackson.

Tuggle began the year with three touchdowns in his first four games including one against Notre Dame. He helped Purdue start the season 2-0. However, the Boilermakers went just 2-10 and did not win a Big Ten game all season. Purdue has not beaten a Power Four opponent (includes the Big Ten) since 2023.

Tuggle’s strong season with Purdue does not mean that he’ll be back with the Boilermakers in 2026. Tuggle transferred to the South Carolina Gamecocks this winter and will play Georgia in November when the Bulldogs and Gamecocks renew their rivalry.
The former four-star recruit will look to compete for immediate playing time at South Carolina. The Gamecocks will have a bit of a Georgia influence in 2026 with UGA transfer defensive tackle Jordan Thomas and former Kirby Smart assistant Shane Beamer serving as South Carolina’s head coach.
