How is Kansas basketball’s roster for 2025-26 shaping up so far? Follow along for updates

LAWRENCE — When Kansas basketball’s 2024-25 season ended in March, with a loss in the NCAA tournament against Arkansas, speculation began about what the Jayhawks’ roster would look like next season.

After players such as Hunter Dickinson and Zeke Mayo moved forward with their goals in the professional ranks, which of their teammates would return for another run in college at KU?

Would there be players with eligibility remaining who would transfer away? Considering the lack of postseason success that’s followed Kansas’ national title run in 2022, there’s a lot of attention on coach Bill Self’s squad this offseason.

So, as clarity arrives for the Jayhawks, follow along here for updates. Check out who’s made a decision to come back, and who’s decided their stint with Self’s team is over.

Which featured Kansas players should fans expect to be moving on from college?

This list would include graduate guard Shakeel Moore, graduate center Hunter Dickinson, graduate guard Dajuan Harris Jr., senior guard Zeke Mayo, and senior forward KJ Adams.

Have any Kansas players of note elected to transfer away, or at least intend to?

UPDATE: March 28: Zach Clemence, a redshirt junior forward this past season, has decided to enter the transfer portal.

UPDATE: March 29: Flory Bidunga, a freshman forward this past season, intends to enter the transfer portal.

UPDATE: March 30: Rakease Passmore, a freshman guard this past season, reportedly intends to enter the transfer portal.

What could Kansas’ roster look like next season?

These would now be the names to know, among those who would return from the 2024-25 team:

  • AJ Storr — Storr was a junior guard this past season.

  • Rylan Griffen — Griffen was a junior guard this past season.

  • Noah Shelby — Shelby was a junior guard this past season.

  • David Coit — Coit was a senior guard this past season.

  • Jamari McDowell — McDowell was a sophomore guard this past season.

  • Elmarko Jackson — Jackson was a sophomore guard this past season.

  • Darryn Peterson — Peterson, a guard, is a class of 2025 signee.

  • Samis Calderon — Calderon, a forward, is a class of 2025 signee.

  • Bryson Tiller — Tiller, a forward, was a class of 2025 signee before joining KU as an early enrollee.
