Brian Kelly and LSU expect to contend for the playoff in 2025 after retaining key pieces and signing the No. 1-ranked transfer class in the country. Oddsmakers and projection systems are bullish on Kelly’s squad, signaling LSU has the talent to compete in the SEC.

But just how many games will LSU win in 2025?
According to Bill Connelly and ESPN’s SP+ predictions, LSU is expected to win 8.5 games this fall. With a 22.1 SP+ rating, LSU ranks No. 4 in the SEC and No. 9 nationally.
With LSU No. 4 in the SEC, SP+ agrees with the Vegas betting odds that give LSU the fourth-best chance to win the conference. Texas, Georgia, and Alabama are ahead.
LSU will begin its season on August 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Clemson.
