The Indiana Fever begin the 2025 WNBA preseason on Saturday afternoon against the Washington Mystics from inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
It’s the long awaited encore act from Fever star guard Caitlin Clark after a WNBA Rookie of the Year campaign in 2024. Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 41.7% from the field, 34.4% from 3-point range and 90.6% from the free-throw line during the 2024 season.

With Clark playing alongside fellow All-Stars Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, Indiana made the WNBA playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season.

Now, the expectations are to be a serious factor in the WNBA championship race. The Fever brought in guards Sophie Cunningham and Sydney Colson and forwards DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard and Brianna Turner to reshape Indiana’s roster with a series of talented vets.
It’s unclear how much Fever fans will see Clark on Saturday, though. The team announced that Clark is questionable with a left leg injury on Friday.

Of course, the franchise is set for a back-to-back with a highly anticipated Sunday date at Carver-Hawkeye Arena up next on May 4 at 3 p.m. CT on ESPN. Indiana might be looking to manage some of Clark’s workload with the date at Iowa up next.
