Providence College (10-10 overall, 4-5 in Big East) at Seton Hall (6-14, 1-8)
Providence is coming off a 78-68 victory over Georgetown and former coach Ed Cooley at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. Seton Hall is coming off a 79-54 home loss to Creighton. The Friars hold a narrow edge over the Pirates with a 59-56 record in head-to-head meetings. In their most recent game, on Jan. 11, PC secured a 91-85 victory. Bensley Joseph had a career-high 28 points and seven 3s in that game. The Friars are 9-2 at home but only 1-4 on the road.

Providence’s Ryan Mela, the league’s Freshman of the Week the last two weeks, is averaging 7.3 rebounds per game in Big East competition, ranking fourth. Oswin Erhunmwunse ranks sixth in the conference in blocked shots with 1.7 per game. The Friars have utilized 11 different starting lineups this season.
Providence will be without the services of Bryce Hopkins, for the rest of the season. Head Coach Kim English broke the news over the weekend, saying Hopkins will continue to rest and rehabilitate his injured knee, but he won’t play again for Providence this season.
Seton Hall has lost five in a row and 10 of 11. The Pirates played Creighton without their top two scorers — Isaiah Coleman (back) and Chaunce Jenkins (knee) — but Dylan Addae-Wusu returned from a foot injury. Seton Hall shot 42.6 percent against Creighton. The Pirates’ biggest concern has been an offense that ranks last in the Big East in shooting percentage at 40.9 percent and is one of the lowest-scoring teams in the country at 63.7 points per game.
