After a challenging slate of games at home, the Oregon women’s basketball team will look to finish its regular season strong with four of its next five games against teams on the NCAA Tournament bubble before the Big Ten Tournament in March.

The Ducks (16-8, 7-6 Big Ten) are in the middle of the Big Ten standings, sitting at 12th, with five games to go in the regular season and two against Pacific Northwest rival Washington, including this Wednesday at Matthew Knight Arena.

Oregon ranks No. 36 in the NCAA’s NET rankings, but enters this critical stretch on a three-game losing streak, with all three games decided by double-digits. The Huskies (14-10, 5-7) are ranked No. 53 in the NET, and will likely be desperate sitting on the outside-looking-in for most NCAA Tournament projections and bracketology predictions.

With just two home games left, Wednesday against the Huskies and Rutgers later this month, the game against Washington is a must-win for a Ducks team sitting on the bubble.

A look at the Washington women’s basketball team

The Huskies, who rank No. 53 in the NET rankings, will be desperate during the final stretch of the season, sitting just outside the bubble of most NCAA Tournament projections. UW started conference play 3-1, but are just 2-6 since and are 2-9 against quadrant one and two opponents in the NET.

One of the smaller teams in the Big Ten, the Huskies rely on guards Elle Ladine (16 PPG) and Sayvia Sellers (15.7 PPG) for most of their scoring and rank second in the conference in 3-point shooting percentage (36%). Though Washington shoots the ball at a high percentage, it ranks just 10th in the Big Ten in points per game (72.9) and 10th in points allowed (64.5).

Washington is also one of the worst rebounding teams in the Big Ten. The Huskies rank dead last in the conference in defensive rebounds (24 per game) and 16th in total rebounds (35 per game).
