
MADISON – The third player to commit to Wisconsin women’s basketball coach Robin Pingeton announced her decision April 16.
Howard transfer Destiny Howell, a 6-foot guard, shared the news on Instagram.
She comes to the Badgers with a player of the year honor in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on her résumé from 2023 and first-team all-conference distinction this past season, when she was the best player on a 22-12 team that reached the second round of the WNIT.

Howell averaged 14.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game this season. Her season total of 87 assists was a personnel high as were her 44 steals and 18 blocks.
Destiny Howell earned the player of the year honor in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in 2022-23 while playing for Howard.
The native of Queens, New York, joins a transfer portal class that also includes 5-11 guard Laci Steele (North Carolina State) and 6-3 forward Gift Uchenna (Southern Illinois).
Edward finished her Howard career as the school’s eighth all-time leading scorer with 1,461 points.
Her best season with the Bison was in 2022-23, when she earned the player of the year award in the MEAC. She averaged 16.8 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 43.5% overall and 35.6% from three-point range.

She missed the following season due to an ACL injury but returned this past season to shoot 35.3% overall and 34.3% from three-point range.
The Badgers still have at least four spots to fill to complete their 15-player roster.
