While it is has yet to be announced by the university, Nebraska appears set to make Miami-Ohios’s Corey Brown the next Nebraska Cornhuskers Defensive Line Coach with multiple outlets reporting it is a done deal. Of course, I reported the same thing about Kenny Minchey, so let’s hope this doesn’t make me some sort of Louisiana Hex Pig if it all falls apart shortly.
Brown has coached the defensive line at Miami-Ohio for the past three seasons (’23 – ‘25), his second stint in the position after previously helming the position from 2014-2018. He spent his playing years as a defensive tackle with the despised Iowa Hawkeyes from 1995-1999.

Prior to that, he led South Dakota’s D-line in the ‘21-’22 seasons, at which time new Nebraska Defensive Coordinator Rob Aurich was the Inside LB Coach and Special Teams Coordinator for the Coyotes.
He is no stranger to the Big 10 having coached Rutgers’ defensive line in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Brown is certainly familiar with the region as his coaching career began in 2006 in Mason City, IA, as a D-Line and Strength & Conditioning Coach at North Iowa Area Community College. He then held the same positions at Iowa Western CC in Council Bluffs from 2009-2011. In addition he was a grad assistant at Notre Dame from 2012-2013
Brown will assume command of Nebraska’s defensive line following the release of Terry Bradden after one season.
