Questions had arisen about why Kevin Durant was not on the bench during Game 3, but Ime Udoka clarified that the Houston Rockets forward had been undergoing treatment at the time.

According to the Houston Rockets coach, those sessions involved “things you can’t do” on the bench, including work on an underwater treadmill.

Udoka emphasized that the decision on whether Durant would return would not be influenced by the team’s 3-0 series deficit.

“I wouldn’t say for him or us,” Udoka said. “I think when he can get back, he’ll get back. And so it’s different, and you extend it a little bit, possibly, if it’s 2-1, to give him more time, but yeah, if he can play, he will.”

Durant has played 18 seasons for 5 teams, including the Thunder and Suns. He has averaged 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 1,201 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 15 All-Star games. He has won the Rookie of the Year award, 1 MVP award, 2 Finals MVP awards, and 2 NBA championships.
