Devan Boykin, who was somewhat quietly a key component of Indiana football’s defense in the Hoosiers’ run to the 2025 national championship, has officially declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.
He transferred to Indiana during the 2025 offseason after spending five seasons at NC State, redshirting in 2024 after suffering an injury that held him out of play for the entirety of the season. He was deployed all over Indiana’s defense with snaps at corner, safety and occasionally along the defensive line to add an extra pass rusher. That versatility is what helped Indiana dominate Alabama in the Rose Bowl as Boykin limited the Crimson Tide’s receivers after the catch while pressuring quarterbacks Ty Simpson and Austin Mack.

He finished the 2025 season as the third highest graded safety overall and highest in run defense, per Pro Football Focus. In a defensive unit that made a name for itself by tackling in space, pressuring opposing quarterbacks and creating opportunities, Boykin was one of the best.
