Caitlin Clark has quickly emerged as one of the most influential ambassadors in women’s basketball since being selected first overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft. In her rookie season, Clark made an instant impact. She earned WNBA Rookie of the Year honors, was named an All‑Star and an All‑WNBA First Team member, and set league records in assists and scoring while leading the Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016.
Her second season was highly anticipated but derailed by injuries, limiting her to just 13 games as she battled left quad and other issues. However, her influence on viewership and attention for the league has remained unmistakable.

While fans continue to anticipate her third season, Clark hasn’t waited for the Fever’s schedule to resume to stay involved in basketball. This offseason, she helped the U.S. women’s national team go 5-0 in FIBA World Cup qualifiers, and her performance earned her MVP honors for the Puerto Rico region of the tournament.
With the WNBA scheduled to resume on May 9, Clark has also kept herself busy off the court. NBC Sports had earlier announced that she would return as a “special contributor” for their Sunday Night Basketball pregame coverage on Sunday, March 29, this time for the New York Knicks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder game.

Clark has appeared in this role previously, debuting on Feb. 1 ahead of the Knicks vs. Los Angeles Lakers game for the launch of NBC’s “Basketball Night in America.”
Hours before her upcoming appearance, the Indiana Fever reacted on X:
“CC’s back on the mic 📺🎙️ tune in tonight as Caitlin Clark joins @NBCSports as a special contributor for the Knicks vs Thunder.”
Her first NBC gig at Madison Square Garden drew significant attention, serving as one of the highlights of NBC’s inaugural Basketball Night in America studio show. Those broadcasts have been among the most‑watched NBA telecasts of the season, with the Knicks–Lakers game drawing 4.5 million viewers while Clark was part of the studio team.

Fans are expected to tune in again to see Clark’s insight and personality back on the mic. As she takes center stage for NBC on Sunday, the countdown is already on for the regular season opening game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, when Clark and the Fever will clash with Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings in a marquee early‑season matchup.
