by

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever selected three players during the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday night, taking forward Makayla Timpson (No. 19 overall) and guard Bree Hall (No. 20 overall) in the second round, and forward Yvonne Ejim (No. 33 overall) in the third round.

“I’m so excited [with the Draft results]. Obviously picking in the second and third round, you have to be prepared for multiple scenarios. Makayla Timpson was someone we had high on our draft board, so when she fell to us at No. 19 we were thrilled,” Fever COO and General Manager Amber Cox said. “At No. 20 with Bree Hall, she is an elite defender on the perimeter and does a lot of things really, really well…And then at No. 33, picking up Yvonne, she’s a versatile post player, great post-up game and brings a different look in the post.

“The name of the game tonight was to really shore up our defense, continue to bring in more versatility and continue to add more weapons to this potent offense.”

Timpson, a product of Florida State University, finished her collegiate career having set single-season program records in rebounds (350), blocks (103) and double-doubles (18).

During her senior season the 6-foot-2 forward was the only player in the NCAA to average at least 15 points (17.5), 10 rebounds (10.6), and three blocks (3.1) per game. Timpson – who boasts a 6-10 wingspan – also earned ACC All-Defensive team and All-ACC First Team honors.

Notably, Timpson broke Natasha Howard’s decade-long school record of 1,046 rebounds, setting a new program record with 1,094 career rebounds.

Timpson also leaves Florida State as the program’s leader in double-doubles (46), also surpassing Howard’s long-standing school record, and second in blocks (290).

While at the University of South Carolina, Hall helped guide the Gamecocks to four-straight Final Four appearances, winning national championships in both the 2022 and 2024 seasons, with SEC tournament titles in three of her four collegiate seasons.

A defensive stalwart in Columbia, Hall played in 147 games, the most of any four-year player in program history.

The 6-0 guard totaled 40 blocks and 61 steals, with 25 blocks in her final season following a junior campaign where she totaled 20 steals.

Ejim, out of Gonzaga University, is a versatile forward who was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons. A member of the Canadian national team, she averaged 14.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 55.1 percent from the field.

The Calgary native leaves Gonzaga as the program’s career points leader, while ranking second all-time in scoring in West Coast Conference history with 2,385 points and third with 1,140 rebounds.

The Indiana Fever open the 2025 season against the Chicago Sky on May 17 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
