WNBA star Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever’s standout guard, has been a transformative figure in women’s basketball since her historic college career at Iowa. Selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, she set league records for assists in her rookie season, earning the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award.

However, her second professional season has been challenged by injuries. A left quadriceps strain in May 2025 sidelined her for five games, and a right groin injury, sustained on July 15, 2025, has kept her out for 10 games as Indiana attempts to maintain its hold on a spot in the WNBA playoffs.

Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark Appears on Sue Bird’s Podcast

As Clark continues to work her way back into full recovery, she recently appeared as a guest on WNBA legend Sue Bird’s podcast “Bird’s Eye View.” Clark and Bird discussed a range of topics, from her iconic Iowa Hawkeyes career to her transition into the WNBA.

During the sit-down, Bird asked Clark to name three of her most memorable career moments.

She highlighted her performances against South Carolina in the NCAA Tournament, notably her 41-point, 12-assist, 10-rebound triple-double in the 2023 Elite Eight and a 30-point effort in Iowa’s 87-75 loss in the 2024 national championship game.

Her second moment was a 32-point, nine-assist performance, including seven 3-pointers, against the New York Liberty on June 14, 2025, leading the Fever to a 102-88 victory over the defending champions. Finally, Clark pointed to her buzzer-beating three-pointer against Indiana on Feb. 26, 2023, during her junior year of college, securing an 86-85 win in the Big Ten championship game with 30 points, 17 assists, and 10 rebounds.

Caitlin Clark’s Lasting Influence on the Game

Caitlin Clark’s college era was universally legendary—she broke all-time NCAA scoring record, and has been credited for sparking a rise in fan attention around women’s basketball. Her legendary status has since followed her into the pros with two All-Star honors and an All-WNBA First Team selection, among other individual accolades.

Despite injuries this season, Clark has continued to make her mark, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 13 games. The Fever will be counting on her return as they aim to advance past the first round of the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2015. Indiana currently sits 5th in the WNBA, with a 18-14 record and will hope to hold steady in the absence of their All-Star guard
