The Chicago Sky are hosting the Indiana Fever on Saturday night at United Center. These two Eastern Conference teams faced off during opening weekend of the 2025 WNBA season, with Indiana securing a 93-85 victory behind Caitlin Clark’s 20-point triple-double.

Unfortunately for Indiana and many fans who bought tickets to see Clark, the reigning Rookie of the Year will not be playing on Saturday. Still recovering from a quad injury, Clark could be back for Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Dream, but is sidelined for this rematch against Chicago.

This is especially disappointing because Chicago moved the game from Wintrust Arena to United Center.

The home of the Chicago Bulls, United Center seats 23,500 fans. Wintrust Arena, where the Sky play their other home games, has room for just over 10,000 fans. While those attending Saturday’s game will not see Clark play, they are witnessing WNBA history.

Chicago advertised before the game that this matchup is the first WNBA game at United Center in the building’s 30-year history. With just under one minute gone in the first quarter, Fever star Aliyah Boston made history by scoring the first-ever WNBA basket where so many other historic basketball moments have taken place.

The Bulls’ inaugural season at United Center came in the 1994-95 season. This was the year Michael Jordan played just 17 games after retiring to play MLB the season prior. Next season began another three-peat for Chicago, as the Bulls won three-straight titles from 1996-98 with Jordan winning Finals MVP all three seasons, bringing his total to six.
