Indiana officially announced the addition of assistant coach Kenny Johnson, who had been reported to be a part of Darian DeVries’ new staff in Bloomington back in April.
This is Johnson’s second stint with Indiana, having been on Tom Crean’s staff from 2012-2014. He’s since worked with Rick Pitino at Louisville and most recently with Ed Cooley at Georgetown for the 2024-25 season.

Johnson has been on the road recruiting with Indiana for months now, using his east coast connections to get Indiana in the door with prospects like Latrell Allmond, who’s set to visit Bloomington in June.
In his first stint with Indiana, Johnson helped Crean land five-star Noah Vonleh, as well as Rob Johnson, both from the east coast.
Expect more of the same from Johnson going forward, who also landed elite talent like Brian Bowen when he was on the staff at Louisville. Johnson is a guy who has connections and knows how to use them.
