Injury forces Ikram Aliskerov out of UFC 318

by

UFC 318 has taken a big hit.

Ikram Aliskerov (16-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) is out of his middleweight matchup against Bruno Ferreira (13-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) on July 19 from Smoothie King Center in New Orleans after breaking his right toe in practice.

Aliskerov shared the exact moment it happened when he was sparring Rinat Fakhretdinov at American Top Team.

Aliskerov rebounded from his first octagon loss to Robert Whittaker by scoring a first-round TKO of Andre Muniz at UFC on ESPN 66 in April. Meanwhile, Brazil’s Ferreira is coming off a second-round armbar submission of Armen Petrosyan at UFC 313 in March.

With the change, the UFC 318 lineup now includes:

  • Paulo Costa vs. Roman Kopylov
  • Brendan Allen vs. Marvin Vettori
  • Islam Dulatov vs. Adam Fugitt
