The Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team is finding its stride, and things are really starting to click. Fresh off a win against the Michigan State Spartans, the Hawkeyes are sitting with a 16-2 overall record and an unblemished 7-0 mark in Big Ten play, putting them tied for first place with the UCLA Bruins.
A catalyst for Iowa during this six-game winning streak, specifically the last week or so, has been veteran forward Hannah Stuelke. Her play has been outstanding and has led Iowa with great all-around play.

This past week, Stuelke posted 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists in a win over Oregon. She followed that up with a 22-point performance against the Michigan State Spartans, which also included 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Her play has earned her honors as the Big Ten Player of the Week.
On the year, Hannah Stuelke is averaging 14.2 points per game to go with 8.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists. She is shooting 55.3% from the field. Stuelke is incredibly efficient with the ball in her hands, as well. She has just 32 turnovers to 51 assists and 25 steals on the season.
Her next chance to continue her play comes in a massive week for the Hawkeyes. Iowa gets a crack at the Maryland Terrapins on the road Thursday, January 22, in a game that will be broadcast nationally on NBC, before returning home for a showdown with the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday, January 25, at 1 p.m. CT, which will stream on Peacock.
