Iowa (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) heads into Week 8 of the college football season riding the momentum of a 37-0 shutout victory over the Wisconsin Badgers (2-4, 0-3 Big Ten).
The Hawkeyes’ dominant win over the Badgers represented Iowa’s first shutout win in the series dating back to 1996 and its first shutout win over Wisconsin in Madison dating back to 1929.

Meanwhile, its Week 8 opponent enters in turmoil. Penn State (3-3, 0-3 Big Ten) has dropped three straight and just fired head coach James Franklin and lost starting quarterback Drew Allar for the remainder of the 2025 season.
During offseason discussions, this Penn State contest was viewed as one of the premier and most difficult on Iowa’s schedule. Now, the Hawkeyes enter as a modest favorite.
On Monday, Iowa released its Week 8 depth chart versus Penn State.
The Hawkeyes’ Week 8 date against Penn State will stream exclusively on Peacock and kicks off at 6 p.m. CT from inside Kinnick Stadium.
