Despite visiting Iowa football on Wednesday, Hawkeyes‘ transfer portal target and former Kent State star Cade Wolford has committed to Cincinnati, where he will have three years of eligibility remaining.
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound former All-MAC wideout finished the 2025 season as the FBS leader in yards per catch with 26.8 per reception. Wolford hauled in 19 grabs for a total of 509 yards with seven touchdowns, to go along with 96 yards and one score on 12 carries on the ground. The Jackson, Ohio, native also returned five kicks for 53 yards in 2025.
With Jacob Gill, Sam Phillips, Kaden Wetjen, and Seth Anderson all having exhausted their eligibility, Iowa now needs to either look elsewhere in the transfer portal or from within to find new playmakers on its offense heading into 2026.

Wolford was also considering Oklahoma State and UCF.
