One loss and another close call sent the Iowa State women’s basketball team tumbling in the latest round of polls.
Iowa State fell seven spots to No. 15 in the Latest USA TOTDAY Sports Network Coaches Poll, which was released Tuesday.
The Cyclones were previously ranked eighth. That was before they fell to in-state rival Northern Iowa and then barely beat another in-state rival, Drake, four days later.
Iowa State, which had been eighth in the AP poll too, also fell seven spots to No. 15 in that poll, which was released Monday.
The 5-1 Cyclones have a big chance to rise up the polls, though. They take on No. 5 South Carolina in the Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off on Thursday.
