As Iowa women’s basketball searches the NCAA transfer portal to fill its roster needs following the departures of five players, the Hawkeyes are reportedly scheduled to host former Georgia point guard Dani Carnegie this weekend on a visit.
On3’s Talia Goodman shared the news that Carnegie was headed to Iowa’s campus.

The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 17.8 points per game on 42.7% field goal shooting, 35.4% from 3-point range, and 83.3% from the free-throw line last season. The Mount Vernon, N.Y., native also averaged 5.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.4 steals in 32 games played and started last year for the Bulldogs.
This is the second consecutive year Carnegie has entered the transfer portal, as she did so in 2025 after spending her freshman season at Georgia Tech. That Georgia Tech season is notable for Iowa’s chances in this transfer portal recruitment, too.
During her freshman campaign with the Yellow Jackets, Carnegie played with current Iowa point guard Chit-Chat Wright and under Iowa assistant coach LaSondra Barrett.

Carnegie’s last game played as a member of the Bulldogs was inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena during Georgia’s 82-73 overtime loss to Virginia in the NCAA Tournament’s first-round action on March 21.
If Iowa can land Carnegie in the portal, she would add much-needed depth in the backcourt. Iowa will also host former Oklahoma State guard Amari Whiting and former Lindenwood guard Ellie Brueggemann.
