Adding to their impressive list of prospects for the 2028 class, Iowa women’s basketball extended an offer to center Sutton Villa on Thursday.

The 6-foot-6 Provo, Utah, native stars for Provo High School’s varsity squad and competes for the 16U 3SSB Utah Lady Prospects AAU team.

Villa is the nation’s top center and the No. 8 player nationally according to ESPN’s 2028 SportsCenter NEXT-Terrific 25.

In her freshman season at Provo High School, Villa averaged an impressive 11.9 points, 9.1 rebounds and 5.2 blocks per game on 45% field goal shooting. Villa earned All-Valley Girls first-team status from the Daily Herald.

In addition to Iowa, Villa also holds offers from other premier women’s college basketball programs, including TCU, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Utah.

As Villa continues her recruitment process over the next year, Iowa hopes its reputation as a premier women’s college basketball destination, with its success over the past five seasons and upward trajectory under head coach Jan Jensen, will be enough to draw the Utah native to Iowa City.
