The winning ways of the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team have created a bit of a rift, but in a good way.
Bracketology updates and analysts have the Hawkeyes in the NCAA Tournament pretty unanimously, which wasn’t the case just a month ago. However, they differ in their opinions of where Iowa should be seeded.
In the latest ESPN NCAA Tournament bracketology, the Hawkeyes held steady at a No. 9 seed, a spot they have held consistently throughout their six-game winning streak.
The differing opinion comes from CBS Sports’ Connor Groel. He is even higher on the Hawkeyes. Groel has slotted Iowa in as a No. 7 seed in his latest March Madness bracketology, which all but cements their spot in the field regardless of how the last four games shake out.
Those final four include games against three NCAA Touranment-bound teams. Iowa gets a road trip to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in a test that could hand them their ticket on the spot with a win in Columbus.
Following that, they welcome in the UCLA Bruins, the top team in America, as they try to pick up the sweep of upsetting teams from LA inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Hawkeyes wrap up the year hitting the road again to take on Michigan and close out the season with a home matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers.
