Wrestling fans found a familiar sight in the latest Grand Theft Auto VI footage, with one brief scene immediately drawing comparisons to one of WWE’s most recognizable stars.

The moment appeared in “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look,” which premiered on Netflix on August 27. The 26-minute presentation offered a closer look at Rockstar Games’ upcoming title, including its characters, missions and activities across Leonida.

Among the footage was a backyard wrestling scene. A makeshift ring is surrounded by spectators as two wrestlers square off, with one eventually lifting his opponent across his shoulders and dropping him to the mat.

The move looks strikingly similar to John Cena’s Attitude Adjustment, which naturally led to speculation about whether the WWE legend himself had somehow made his way into the game.

However, there is no indication that “The Cenation Leader” appears in GTA 6.

The footage appears to show fictional characters performing a wrestling move inspired by professional wrestling rather than Cena himself. Some reports have also described the maneuver as a Death Valley Driver, which is another variation of a move in which a wrestler carries an opponent across the shoulders before dropping them.

Rockstar has not confirmed that the sequence is based specifically on John Cena or revealed whether the wrestling scene is part of a playable activity.

GTA 6’s Backyard Wrestling Scene Raises Bigger Questions

The wrestling footage is interesting for another reason: it could point to more than a simple visual reference.

It is not yet clear whether the backyard wrestling scene is tied to a mission, an activity players can take part in, or an event that happens naturally while exploring the open world. Rockstar has not provided an explanation for the sequence.

That uncertainty has left wrestling fans wondering whether the game could feature more wrestling-inspired interactions. The extended look already showed how much Rockstar has packed into its version of Vice City, with the preview highlighting activities and encounters well beyond the main story.

Cena’s connection to the moment is easy to understand. The Attitude Adjustment has been one of the defining moves of his WWE career, making the resemblance hard for wrestling fans to miss.

John Cena retired from in-ring competition in December 2025 after his final match against Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He remains involved with WWE outside the ring, but his wrestling career is now over.

Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Until Rockstar reveals more, the backyard wrestling sequence remains one of the more unexpected discoveries from the latest look at the game.
