Iowa State was previously ranked No. 25 and had just returned to the rankings after a two-week hiatus.
The hiatus stemmed from a five-game losing streak that also dropped the Cyclones from the Associated Press poll.
Iowa State (20-6 overall, 8-6 in Big 12 Conference play) went 1-1 last week with a loss at BYU and a win at home to Kansas State.
