Jake Paul: Nate Diaz MMA fight ‘high on my list of priorities’

by

Jake Paul’s preferred option for a potential MMA debut is against Nate Diaz.

Diaz (22-13) returns to the cage against Mike Perry (14-8) under Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions on May 16 from Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. The fight streams on Netflix as part of the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano undercard.

Paul defeated Diaz in a boxing match in 2023 in which he knocked him down en route to a unanimous decision. Now “The Problem Child” sees Diaz as the perfect opponent when he tries his hand at MMA.

“I want Nate in MMA,” Paul said on “This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von.” “It’s high on my list of priorities to do that. It’s just the business side. He probably wants a certain amount of money to take the risk in losing to me. I just don’t give a f*ck. I have enough money. I got all my sh*t. That’s why these guys are actual ducks, is because you can’t hide behind money anymore. I think it’s going to happen, though. If he beats Perry, then me vs. Nate is probably the No. 1 thing on the list, above Tommy Fury, above Francis Ngannou, above KSI.”

Diaz is a betting underdog against Perry, but Paul predicts that he gets the job done.

“I think he will (beat Perry),” Paul said. “I think he will take him down and submit him.”
