MONTREAL – Jasmine Jasudavicius met the media Saturday after her first-round submission win over Jessica Andrade at UFC 315.

Jasudavicius (14-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) had arguably the most important fight of her career in front of her in former strawweight champion Andrade (26-14 MMA, 17-12 UFC), and she passed the test with flying colors and never gave Andrade an opening in their flyweight bout.

“Whatever the route is to that No. 1 spot – I don’t care who they put in front of me. I don’t care about who fights who. They’ll figure all that stuff out,” Jasudavicius said at her post-fight news conference. “I just want to see ‘Jasmine Jasudavicius, No. 1 champion of the world.’ I’d say (by this time next year, I’ll be No. 1) – if I stay on this kind of trajectory.

“I’d say they have to (start paying attention to me now). (Andrade) was a former champ. (Mayra Bueno Silva), the last girl I beat, was a (flyweight) championship (challenger). … I think it would be silly for people to not treat me as a contender at this point.”

Jasudavicius has five straight wins. Three of them have been by choke – and all three of those, including her win over Andrade, picked her up an extra $50,000 in bonus money.
