Jean Silva has inserted himself into the UFC featherweight title conversation, and his latest move suggests he believes something significant is already in motion behind the scenes.
The Brazilian, currently ranked sixth in the division with a 6-1 UFC record, is pushing hard for a shot at Alexander Volkanovski’s belt despite expectations pointing elsewhere.

“It’s going to be the biggest promotion people have ever seen when I sign this contract for the belt. The way I’m going to sell this fight is unbelievable.”
Silva even took aim at the main event itself, saying: “After the fight shows itself boring, I’m going to go up there and fire them both. I don’t care.”

Speaking to MMA Fighting, Evloev has already pushed back on Silva’s claims, making it clear he sees the London bout as decisive.
He also questioned the Brazilian star’s position.
“No, nothing like that,” the 32-year-old Russian said when asked about guarantees.

“It looks like it’s a contender fight. If I win or Murphy wins, I don’t see no excuse to not give a title shot the winner of this fight.
“Silva is talking after his fight, but he just lost, and he had one win and then he needs the title?”
Another factor that could hinder Silva’s title push is the champion’s preference, as he has already publicly backed Evloev.
