Richard Childress Racing’s Jesse Love held off Haas Factory Team Ford drivers Sam Mayer and Sheldon Creed to win the NASCAR Xfinity Series season opener in overtime at Daytona International Speedway.

Carson Kvapil and Jordan Anderson rounded out the top five.

Harrison Burton, Dean Thompson, Jeremy Clements, Patrick Emerling and Taylor Gray completed the top 10.

With two laps remaining in regulation, a multicar wreck ignited when Connor Zilisch got turned around in front of the pack on the backstretch by JR Motorsports teammate Justin Allgaier, following a late block by Sheldon Creed. This set up the single NASCAR Overtime attempt.

Despite sweeping Stages 1 and 2, Austin Hill’s quest to win the Xfinity Series season opener at Daytona for the fourth consecutive year came to an end due to a mechanical issue. Hill took the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet to the garage after leading 56 laps and finished 33rd.

The Xfinity Series returns to action next Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Bennett Transportation & Logistics 250 at 5 p.m. ET (The CW, PRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
