Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg title bout set for UFC 327 headliner

by

Alex Pereira is no longer the champion of the UFC light heavyweight division, and with that comes a title fight for the vacant belt.

Pereira, one of the UFC’s biggest stars, has vacated his title, and now Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg will compete to see who’s the new king of the division. The two top contenders are set to clash in the main event of UFC 327, which is scheduled to go down on April 11 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

UFC CEO Dana White officially announced the matchup on Instagram Live Friday evening.

Prochazka (32-5-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC) looks to reclaim his title, as he crowned himself champion in 2022. However, an injury forced him to vacate his belt, and he’s been unable to reclaim it since, falling short on two different occasions against Pereira, who beat him both times by TKO. Prochazka had a fruitful 2025. He picked up TKO wins over former champion Jamahal Hill and former UFC title challenger Khalil Rountree Jr. to put behind his second defeat against “Poatan.”

Ulberg (13-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC), on the other hand, sports one of the longest win streaks in the promotion. He’s won nine consecutive bouts since losing his UFC debut in 2021, and has beaten several notable names in the process. Ulberg was last seen in September when he stopped Dominick Reyes in the first round of their main event bout. Ulberg trains out of City Kickboxing in Australia, alongside former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
