Fox Sports college football expert Joel Klatt predicted the winner of the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs versus No. 16 Alabama Crimson Tide game on his podcast, “The Joel Klatt Show.” Klatt is sorry for any college football fans that have to miss Week 5 action, which features Georgia–Alabama, Oregon-Penn State and LSU-Ole Miss, due to a wedding.
“What they (Georgia) showed me (in their road comeback win over Tennessee) is that the SEC still goes through Georgia,” Klatt said. “And guess what? They don’t lose at home. They’ve got the longest win streak in the country at home.”

Georgia enters the Alabama game with a 33-game home winning streak. The Bulldogs haven’t lost at home since 2019.
Klatt mentions that Georgia coach Kirby Smart is 1-6 in his career against Alabama, but Georgia has never played the Crimson Tide at home during the Smart era. Bulldogs fans should have a great environment for the Alabama game on Saturday night.

Georgia is playing an Alabama team that has struggled on the road under head coach Kalen DeBoer.
“I know that Bama has been different since Florida State, but here’s what worries me about Alabama,” Klatt said. “If you look at the the trend of how they’ve played on the road, even dating back to last year under Kalen DeBoer, it has not been good. And in fact, it’s been downright bad. It’s not that they’ve just lost games. It’s been the fashion in which they have lost those games.”

Alabama is 1-4 in its last five road games. Klatt does not think Alabama will go on the road and beat his SEC favorite, Georgia, just because they blew out Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago. Klatt still has some doubts about Georgia, but he likes the Bulldogs get a massive SEC win against Alabama.
“I think Georgia wins and they further cement themselves as the team everyone has to go through in the SEC,” said Klatt.
Prediction: Georgia 38, Alabama 31
